- Before a bid moves
Read the account
before you touch it.
Every account I have opened told the same story in a different order: the spend was not too small, it was going where nobody had looked. Search terms that had nothing to do with the business. Conversions the platform counted that the phone never rang for. Budgets set from last quarter instead of from what a lead is worth.
So the first deliverable is a written read of the account, before a single bid changes. What it counts. What it misses. What it wastes. You get that document whether or not we go further.
- The prices
Know the click
before the campaign.
In the September 2026 pull, the Louisville terms a business would actually want cost under $10 a click: "louisville website design" $7.98, "louisville marketing agency" $4.20, "digital marketing louisville" $4.57. The vague terms are where the money goes: "louisville online ads" $30.16, "seo company near me" $24.54.
Google bills a daily budget at up to 30.4 times in a month and up to twice on any one day. Whoever sets your budget should say the monthly ceiling before the campaign is enabled, and should be able to tell you the price of every click they intend to buy.
- The stop
A hundred clicks,
then a decision.
A hundred clicks is enough to see two things: whether the terms you bought are the terms people typed, and whether the page they landed on turned any of them into a form fill or a call. That decision is made by a person reading the search-term report, not by the platform's own scorecard.
Fewer than two leads in a hundred clicks means the page or the offer is wrong. More budget does not fix a page. The page gets fixed first.
- Asked before the brief
The short
answers.
What should a PPC agency in Louisville show me before I sign anything?
A written read of your existing account, if you have one: which search terms actually spent the money last quarter, what the account counts as a conversion, and whether those conversions match what your phone and inbox say. If there is no account yet, a list of the exact terms they intend to buy, with the price of each click. Any agency that cannot produce either is asking you to pay for the reading.
What does PPC management cost in Louisville?
Most firms will not say on their site, and the ones that do price on a percentage of spend, which pays them more when you spend more. I price the account read as one fee, quoted once, and the ongoing work monthly. Ad spend goes direct to Google, never through me, so the management fee and the media are two different numbers on two different statements.
How much does Google actually bill on a daily budget?
Up to 30.4 times the daily budget in a calendar month, and up to twice the daily budget on any single day. A $15 day is a $456 month at the ceiling. Anyone setting your budget should say both numbers out loud before the campaign is enabled.
Should I bid on the words "Louisville" and "near me"?
On the city, yes: a search with Louisville in it is a person here, and in the September 2026 pull almost nobody local was bidding on those terms. "Near me" is different. Google serves it by the searcher's location, so you buy it by geofencing the campaign to Louisville, not by putting the words in your keyword list.
When should I stop and change something?
At a hundred clicks. That is enough to see whether the terms you bought are the terms people typed, and whether the page they landed on turned any of them into a form fill or a call. Fewer than two leads in a hundred clicks means the page or the offer is wrong, not the budget. Fix that before the next dollar.
