The proof was always there. Now the website shows it.

Her proof existed. Eight genuine testimonials, a Nextdoor Neighborhood Favorite award won three years running, finished rooms in her clients’ houses. None of it was on the site a customer actually saw.

- The Brief

The business ran on a rented site builder. An audit of the live presence found zero project photos on the site itself - for a painting company, the product is the photograph - eight testimonials effectively buried, and a reputation living on Facebook, Instagram and eighteen Nextdoor neighborhoods the website never pointed to.

- Diagnosis

The gap was not design. It was that a rented platform had no way to carry her evidence and no incentive to try. The fix had to end with her owning the result, or the same gap reopens the next time a subscription lapses.

- The Build

01 · Brand before build

The brand foundation went through six versions with the client and the agency partner before a line of production code. Every section of the site maps to a decision she had already seen and approved. The presentation was the build brief.

02 · A honeypot, not a CAPTCHA

Her customers are homeowners. The estimate form filters bots with a hidden field rather than making a sixty-year-old prove she is human. Zero added friction on the one interaction that pays for everything.

03 · Test the alert path, not just the form

A form that submits but never reaches the owner silently eats jobs. Live test submissions were fired before delivery; testing surfaced a routing problem and the notification address was re-pointed. The failure was found, not assumed away.

04 · Design the link preview like a front door

Her referrals travel through texts and Facebook posts, so the social card is the first impression. The auto-generated crop was rejected and a card was designed from scratch.

- Outcome

A storefront that scores at the ceiling on the audit any prospect’s web person would run - and that leads with her own rooms, her own award, and her own ownership story instead of hiding them.

Her domain still points at the old builder, so the finished site has not begun receiving her traffic. Analytics are live and will produce all three in the first full month after the DNS change - a change that takes minutes and is not mine to make.

"A rented storefront can go dark the day a subscription lapses. Hers is one DNS change from permanent."
